Violence Free Minnesota (VFM) and ThinkSelf Deaf Adult Education and Advocacy partnered to make VFM’s February 24, 2024 Statement on Burnsville Police and EMT Domestic Violence Homicides more accessible to the Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, Hard of Hearing and Late Deafened Community. This ASL version is not exact but is an accurate translation of the Statement and is intended to promote awareness of the complex issues surrounding this tragedy. If you have any questions please reach out to ThinkSelf at hello@thinkself.org or 651-829-9089.
Video description: Video opens with two people standing side by side. On the left is ThinkSelf advocate Heath; Heath wears glasses, has short brown hair, and a close-cropped beard. They wear a plain long sleeve shirt with three buttons. On the right is Stevie, a community member; Stevie has chin length black curly hair and wears a plain colored boatneck long sleeved top. Both are signing in ASL. After the opening, the video alternates between the two signers.
