Classes for Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Adult Learners
ThinkSelf’s Adult Education program focuses on working with adults who may have little or no educational experience by creating an engaging, supportive, ASL-rich classroom environment designed for adult learners.
Our free classes operate year-round – with a few seasonal breaks – and can help you improve your English reading and writing, basic math and budgeting for daily life and work, computer skills, and work-related skills.
Advocacy for ThinkSelf Learners
Not sure what you want to do for work or school? Our Learner Advocates can help you figure out what’s next! They can support you with setting goals, making a plan, and finding the courses and certifications you need to succeed.
If you experience barriers to coming to school – such as transportation, technology access, or financial barriers – our learner advocates can work with you to break down those barriers. They can also support you in identifying your goals and making referrals to any other support services you may need to meet them.
Tutoring and Resume-Building
Navigating this English-centered world – texting, emails, and so much more – can be difficult and exhausting. ThinkSelf staff can work with you so you feel more prepared and confident at work, college, and in life!
Northstar Digital Literacy
Our computer literacy classes allow you to earn your Northstar Digital Literacy certificate in a range of computer literacy courses.
Language for Work
We work closely with Minnesota Employment Center to break down barriers and identify creative opportunities for employment. You can get support learning the vocabulary, access, and skills you need for your job site and work goals!
Prepare for your for your written class D knowledge test in both ASL and English, and get support with accommodations and access to permit testing.
