Welcome Alyx & Michael!
ThinkSelf’s team has grown by two!
Alyx McMahon
DVSA/General Crime Advocate
Based in Brainerd, Alyx spends her time convincing her teenager she’s still cool, enjoying the outdoors through kayaking and camping, getting lost in a good book from the comfort of her hammock, or relaxing at home surrounded by her many beloved animals.
Michael Wheatley
Navigator
Michael traded sweet tea for snowdrifts when he moved from Alabama to the Twin Cities in 2018. These days, he’s soaking up life with his just-turned-one toddler, his partner, and their pack of furbabies. When he’s not chasing tiny footsteps, he’s cheering loud for the Vikings and Timberwolves. Life’s pretty sweet up north with his favorite crew!
Exploring Connection & Inclusion at A Great Day Farm
This month, Aaron had the honor of visiting A Great Day Farm, just outside of Northfield, MN, and connecting with Executive Director Haley Teopaco. What began as a family’s dream to share the joy of open spaces has grown into a vibrant, inclusive community dedicated to breaking down barriers to recreation—especially for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
A Great Day Farm offers flexible, nature-based experiences that foster freedom, autonomy, and healing. As we continue seeking opportunities to share all things Minnesota with our participants—whether they’re learning English or finding their path after leaving an abusive relationship—we believe the farm could be a perfect setting for future retreats and community building.

ICYMI!
ThinkSelf is offering a limited opportunity for organizations to increase access by providing free Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) for survivor support groups. These services are trauma-informed, accessible, and easy to use, helping you better connect with Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing participants. If your support groups aren’t currently accessible—or if you’re looking to grow your inclusive practices—we’d love to partner with you.
